We are working on behalf of a fantastic special school in Cheltenham that are looking for a EY SEMH Teaching Assistant to join the team in either a full-time or part-time capacity. The school are a unique setting that look after students aged 2-10 years old that have a range of special needs but are primarily focused around SEMH.
The school are well established in the area having operated in Cheltenham for a while now! It's a challenging environment to work in due to the needs of the students but that also makes the work that bit more rewarding! They really are a wonderful school, I have always received good feedback from candidates that I've placed at the school.
The role
Working at this school requires you to be proactive, flexible, adaptable, enthusiastic, positive and patient. Due to the needs of the students it is essential that you feel confident in dealing with challenging behaviour and have worked with SEN/SEMH before (preferably within a school setting).
The role of EY SEMH Teaching Assistant is varied, you will be expected to fill in wherever necessary but typically this will be providing general support withing the classroom. You will work closely with other members of staff so being a natural team player is a help!
