Your new company

Hays Accountancy & Finance are partnering exclusively with a Financial Services Group operating within an interesting sector to recruit a dynamic & driven Finance Analyst for their Cheltenham, Gloucestershire office. The position is varied and hands-on, involving a range of duties from reporting, treasury processes, reconciliations, financial analysis, through to supporting management accounts preparation and cash analysis. Suited to a finance professional who is currently studying CIMA/ACCA/ACA/AAT or looking to commence a professional finance qualification, finance professionals who are qualified by experience will be considered. A progressive role with training/development, remote/office hybrid working of 2 days on-site, 3 days remote if required, flexible working hours, annual bonus scheme, generous pension scheme, study package for finance qualifications and further competitive benefits.

Your new role

Your key duties will involve assisting in the preparation of management accounts, key performance/risk indicators, cash analysis, forecasts and supporting audit preparation. You will assist in reviewing various financial reports with supporting analysis, preparing accruals, prepayments, and journals. You will review risk re-insurance losses, prepare quarterly statements based on transactions and be involved in ad-hoc duties/projects to support the finance team. You will be involved in treasury process including importing payment runs, reporting on payments, bank reconciliations, monitoring cash movements, finance administration and banking processes. You will be given the opportunity to support a range of accounting duties to support your ongoing development with exposure to various stakeholders around the group.

What you'll need to succeed

To be considered for this hands-on and varied Finance Analyst role, you will need some experience in a similar position, a desire to study AAT/CIMA/ACCA/ACA, whilst being highly numerate and detailed focused. You will have strong communication skills to build both internal and external relationships at all levels, a team player with a professional and positive working attitude. Trained in financial systems with MS Excel skills, used to managing workloads and meeting deadlines. You will be willing to learn, have effective problem-solving skills and be used to adapting to business needs. Experience with banking/treasury processes, knowledge of SUN financial system and experience within the financial services/insurance sector would be advantageous but not essential.
