Public Practice Recruitment Ltd is delighted to be searching for an exceptional Corporate Tax Manager for a thriving and well-established, award winning, independent firm of accountants in Cheltenham. This post if offered on either a full or a part time basis.

This accountancy firm is looking for a talented Corporate Tax Manager to join their team in Cheltenham to oversee the tax department, reviewing tax computations for a large portfolio of owner managed businesses. The role will offer a mix of compliance and advisory duties.

What are we looking for? You’ll be ACCA/ACA/CA and/or CTA qualified with several years' experience at a senior level in a tax team, managing workflow and ensuring deadlines are met.

This Corporate Tax Manager job will suit an accountant who is ready to make their mark as part of a modern and inclusive leadership team and is prepared to hit the ground running and support the Partners with business development, service provision and the mentoring and development of the junior staff.

Job Purpose

  • Review corporate tax returns.
  • Ensure client assignments are completed in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider tax team, utilising resource effectively to maximise client service.
  • To provide both high level tax compliance and tax consultancy services to clients.
  • Research specialist tax issues as required and formulate solutions.
  • Develop and maintain positive client relationships, ensuring awareness of their requirements.
  • Due diligence.
  • Recognise and respond to clients’ business needs, providing quality tax advice on all aspects of assignments.
  • Empower the tax team through appropriate delegation and effective people management.
  • Consistently seek internal improvement, presenting opportunities to senior leadership.
  • Demonstrate commitment to the firms ongoing strategic direction, communicating and adapting to change.
  • Manage margins effectively to drive profitability.
  • Successful engagement of new clients.
  • Proactively engage with the mentoring and development of junior staff.

The Successful Applicant

  • Ideally CTA qualified.
  • Demonstrable tax advisory and tax compliance experience within a practice environment.
  • R&D experience desirable but not essential.
  • Strong IT skills and knowledge.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Able to lead a team and project manage, including decision-making, time management and prioritisation.
