Logistics Team Leader

Full time - Permanent - Cheltenham - £32,000 - £36,000

A leading global business is looking for a dynamic Logistics Team Leader/Warehouse Supervisor to join their team. You will be responsible for co-ordinating the operation of receipting and despatch in a busy warehouse and stores environment.

The Role:

  • Lead the team in day-to-day operations, ensuring all resources are allocated to meet business requirements.
  • Gain an understanding of relevant departmental KPI's.
  • Interpret data to ensure key functions are supported alongside departmental improvements.
  • Ensure the completion of safety inspections, absence procedures, accident/near miss investigations, risk assessments, 1-2-1 coaching/feedback sessions, and weekly/monthly team briefings as required.
  • Ensure the ongoing maintenance of working practices, process SOP's, skills matrix, and work instructions.
  • Clear communication on team instructions and develop functional cross departmental relationships- Desirable - project experience
  • Ensure the completion of meaningful annual target setting, with timely appraisals.
  • Deliver excellent standards across the warehouse and yard.
  • Develop an excellent working knowledge of departmental roles.
  • Covering absence of manager

 

The Person:

  • 3+ years' experience as a Team Leader or Manager of at least 10 operatives, leading a high performing multi-skilled team in a fast-paced despatch department
  • Desirable - FMCG environment experience.
  • Qualification in management or leadership.
  • Experience actively managing and developing a team.
  • Experienced providing workable solutions, often at short notice.
  • Excellent customer service skills, Communication skills, commercial awareness.
  • Good organisational, time management and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working with MRP system.
  • Experience using and implementing CI tools- Six Sigma, 5Y etc.
  • Competent with Microsoft office.
  • Experienced operating and applying Environment, Health and Safety
  • Desirable - NEBOSH
