Job Title: 3rd Line Support EngineerLocation: Cheltenham (Hybrid Working)Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 (dependent on experience)About the Role:My client is a rapidly growing tech firm looking for a skilled and experienced 3rd Line Support Engineer to join our dynamic IT team based in Cheltenham.In this role, you’ll take ownership of complex technical issues, provide high-level support, and ensure the smooth operation of our IT systems. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a passion for problem-solving and a drive to deliver exceptional service.Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose and resolve escalated technical issues across a variety of IT systems and infrastructure.
  • Maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot servers, networks, and storage solutions.
  • Provide advanced support for Windows Server, Active Directory, and virtualised environments (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
  • Collaborate with 1st and 2nd Line Support teams to ensure seamless escalation processes.
  • Implement system upgrades, patches, and new technologies.
  • Ensure robust backup and disaster recovery systems are in place.
  • Assist with IT projects, including migrations and system rollouts.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of processes and solutions.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in a 3rd Line Support role or similar.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, and Office 365.
  • Experience with networking (LAN/WAN), firewalls, and VPNs.
  • Familiarity with virtualisation platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V.
  • Scripting skills (e.g., PowerShell) are desirable.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft, Cisco, or VMware) are advantageous.
