My client, a well-established Town Planning consultancy based in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, is seeking a Senior Planner to join their growing team. The company is known for providing high-quality, customer-focused development management services and is looking for an ambitious planning professional eager to build their reputation and gain more experience.



Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Town Planner, you will:

  • Deliver Planning Solutions: Utilize your broad knowledge of planning to achieve effective outcomes for clients, with a focus on clear communication and written reports.
  • Manage Planning Applications: Efficiently process planning applications, creating comprehensive reports and recommendations.
  • Prepare and Present Evidence: Support clients by preparing and presenting evidence for planning appeals.
  • Support Team Development: Guide and assist junior colleagues, ensuring they understand current planning issues and legislation.
  • Contribute to Business Growth: Support business development efforts, fostering repeat work, and applying a commercial approach to your work.
  • Client Communication: Maintain excellent communication with clients, providing professional and clear written and verbal updates.


Key Requirements

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have a degree in a town planning discipline and ideally be a member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI).
  • Have at least 3 years of experience in either the Local Authority or private sector.
  • Be capable of managing workloads and prioritizing tasks while meeting both the commercial and contractual needs of the business.
  • Have a strong understanding of planning legislation and be able to work independently across various planning sectors.
  • Be a team player who thrives in a fast-paced, growing environment.
  • Be committed to delivering high-quality, timely, and innovative planning solutions.
