We are seeking a proactive and organised individual to join our clients team as an Assistant Operations Manager. This role is crucial for ensuring operational excellence and legal compliance within their transport network. As a key member of our management team, you will oversee multiple aspects of operations, ensuring efficiency, reliability, and adherence to regulations.
Day-to-day of the role:- Act as a Transport Manager on the company Operator’s licence, ensuring compliance with the Traffic Commissioners’ guidelines.
- Monitor and enhance the punctuality and reliability of services, managing specific route groups and overseeing schedule changes.
- Ensure legal compliance across all operational areas, including driver hours, DVSA incident reporting, and internal audits.
- Manage and support a team of professional drivers, Allocators, and Controllers, providing training, coaching, and performance management.
- Handle administrative duties such as conducting return to work interviews, managing rota and control for depot coverage, and undertaking job chats and probationary reviews.
- Investigate complaints and incidents as required and address performance issues effectively.
- Foster a culture aligned with the company’s vision and values, encouraging team members to contribute to a positive working environment.
- Minimum of two years’ experience in an operational role within a similar industry.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and coach teams across multiple functions.
- Excellent knowledge of industry and company standards, contributing to maintaining Earned Recognition status.
- Highly organised, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently and meeting deadlines.
