Role Description

This is a part-time on-site role for a Bookkeeping and Payroll Assistant . You will work as part of a team and be responsible for administering payroll and bookkeeping services, for a number of clients. Full-time position is also available.

Responsibilities

  • Preparation and submissions of payroll from client information provided, at various frequencies and sizes, from start to finish
  • Update tax codes and dealing with any other HMRC notifications
  • Knowledge of statutory payments
  • Process starters and leavers, including salary calculations
  • Maintaining pension schemes and ensuring TPR duties are met
  • Day to day bookkeeping and preparing VAT returns
  • Reconcile bank and control accounts
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with multiple clients, as well as assisting them with queries
  • Working within a team to meet deadlines and delivering work to a high standard

Profile

A successful Bookkeeper/Payroll p/t should have:

  • A solid understanding of bookkeeping and or Payroll within a professional practice setting.
  • Proven ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records.
  • Proficiency in Sage, Xero and or QuickBooks.
  • A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers.
  • An ability to handle sensitive, confidential information.
