Job Description

Quality Assurance Specialist - Salary Band: £14.35 - £17.44Location: Cheltenham

My Client is seeking a meticulous and skilled Inspector to join their dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for inspecting parts and components, ensuring compliance with relevant customer specifications and industry standards, including AS9100.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize, calibrate, and control relevant inspection and measuring equipment, including verniers, micrometres, calipers, and CMM equipment.
  • Conduct inspections in accordance with drawing requirements.
  • Perform hardness, conductivity, and tensile testing.
  • Inspect painted parts, including visual, thickness, adhesion, colour, and gloss checks.
  • Report any defects found to production and engineering colleagues
  • Share technical knowledge to assist with root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Participate in audits performed by external parties and internal audits.
  • Ensure conformance of components/parts and complete inspection documentation accurately.
  • Compile FAIR (First Article Inspection Report) documentation.

Essential Qualifications and Skills:

  • Previous experience in a quality inspection role, demonstrating leadership and supervision capabilities.
  • Qualification in an engineering discipline.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Decision-making skills and ability to lead and supervise.
  • Works well under pressure, i.e. Patience, confidence, and integrity.
  • Excellent knowledge of compliance with company policies, specifically Quality and Health and Safety procedures.
  • Potential transfers to other divisions as part of training and development.
