Job Title: Quantity Surveyor

(open to candidates from mid-associate level)

Location: Cheltenham office, South-West projects

Contract: Permanent

Summary:

The Quantity Surveyor is responsible for providing expert quantity surveying services to clients, including cost estimating, tendering, and contract administration. This position requires a strong understanding of construction methods and materials, as well as experience in high quality projects, there will also be the requirement for Project management within the role.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including the cost of materials, labour, and equipment

  • Review and analyse construction drawings and specifications to identify potential cost risks

  • Manage the tendering process, including preparing tender documents and evaluating bids

  • Negotiate and award contracts with subcontractors

  • Administer contracts, including monitoring project costs, issuing payment certificates, and resolving disputes

  • Provide expert advice to clients on all aspects of quantity surveying

  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices

Qualifications/ Experience:

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.

  • Preferably hold MRICS, or be on the RICS pathway.

  • 3+ years of experience in quantity surveying, preferably with experience working for a consultancy but we are open to contractor backgrounds.

  • Strong understanding of construction methods and materials.

  • Experience in managing tendering and contract administration processes.

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
