Assistant ManagerCheltenham£27,000 to £35,000We are looking for an ambitious, motivated Assistant Manager to join our ever-growing team. My client has a long tradition of supplying plumbing, heating and bathroom materials to retail and trade customers, you will have strong communication skills with the ability to provide excellent customer service within a merchant environment. You must be comfortable in talking and selling to a variety of customers face to face and over the phone, and support in running the branch alongside the Manager.Main duties:

  • Supporting the Manger in the day to day running of the branch
  • Build and maintain relationships with new and existing trade and retail customers
  • Drive and achieve your sales targets in line with the agreed budgets
  • Serving and exceeding customer expectations on collection and deliveries
  • Leading by example, by creating profitable new business opportunities /accounts
  • Produce competitive quotations within the customer’s time frames and needs
  • 100% call back response to our customers
  • Managing branch purchasing and stock control
  • Covering the Branch Manager’s role when required
  • Conduct any task when required including warehouse and deliveries
  • Collaborate on Trade events and Special offers for our customers

The Candidate

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Managerial experience within a merchants would be advantageous
  • Strong Excel skills are fundamental for the role.
  • Must have a full, clean driving licence
  • Ability to remain calm in sometimes stressful situations.
  • Ability to work well within a team but also capable of working independently.
