Trade Counter AssistantCheltenham£26,000 + DOEWe are looking for an ambitious, motivated Trade Counter Advisor to join our ever-growing team. My client has a long tradition of supplying Timber, plumbing & Building Materials to retail and trade customers, you will have strong communication skills with the ability to provide excellent customer service within a merchant environment.You must be comfortable in talking and selling to a variety of customers face to face and over the phone. The preferable candidate will have a good knowledge of the workings within a builder’s merchant however, full training will be provided if successful.Prior experience in a DIY or Merchant outlet would also be ideal but not essential.Daily Duties include

  • Serving customers to the highest standards on collection and deliveries
  • Offer the highest level of customer service to existing and new accounts
  • Making and answering phone calls to customers
  • Checking and putting stock away
  • Looking after the warehouse (goods in and out)
  • Picking and packing customer orders
  • Producing competitive quotes to all potential and existing customers
  • Help with weekly and yearly stock checks

Role Requirements

  • Industry knowledge/experience would be ideal but essential
  • Strong communication skills both written and spoken
  • Attention to detail.
  • Strong account management awareness and skillset
  • Previous experience within a trade-based role would be beneficial
