Overall Purpose of The Job;

  • To code GBS invoices for processing on the purchase ledger daily. Making use of the various trackers to source information.
  • To assist in producing payments packs to suppliers and ad hoc payments.
  • To complete regular Supplier statement reconciliations, investigate queries and chase for any missing invoices.
  • To undertake ad hoc tasks as required from time to time by the purchase ledger supervisor to assist in the general duties of the department.
  • To assist the Treasury department when necessary.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities;

  • To have experience in purchase ledger duties, with good knowledge of purchase ledger invoice processing and payments. (not essential)
  • To have knowledge of internal controls in a purchase ledger. (not essential)
  • To be able to work to instructions effectively, in a team environment and to adhere to deadlines.
  • Computerised accounting purchase-ledger experience, not essential.
  • High attention to detail and, logical, and orderly in approach to processing.
  • Sound working knowledge of MS Windows-based software packages, especially Excel, including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, electronic mail, and the internet.
