Higher Level Teaching Assistant Role and Responsibilities:

  • Providing support to small groups of students or individuals who need extra support
  • Monitoring students' progress and collaborating with teachers, parents, and carers to discuss development
  • Independently teaching classes, especially in the absence of teachers due to illness or leave
  • Setting up classrooms for lessons and gathering books and handouts for students
  • Planning and delivering learning and enrichment activities, either with guidance from the teacher or individually
