Long-term Teachers are proud to be supporting a fantastic special school based in Cheltenham that are looking for someone to support with their complex medical needs students.

Having placed a number of staff at this school over the years I can confidently say how well supported you will be as a new member of staff, being provided with regular 1-1 sit downs and training.

The role

This role will be based in their complex medical needs classes so experience with medical care is required. This is a unique role as the school are more than happy accepting applications from support workers that don't necessarily have school experience.

The role will involve a lot of 1-1 work and general classroom support. This class is such a rewarding place to work in but also certainly comes with its challenges.

You will be expected to:

  • Have experience working with special needs & disabilities
  • Have experience working with complex medical needs
  • Support the class teacher in all aspects of classroom support
  • Always be proactive and get involved in all aspects of school life
  • Work well as part of a team
