About the Role:

Academics Ltd is looking for a compassionate and dedicated Individual Support Assistant to provide 1:1 support at a primary school in Cheltenham. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide personalised 1:1 support to meet the child's individual learning, social, and emotional needs.
  • Assist with alternative communication methods such as BSL, Makaton, or other AAC tools to support communication and engagement.
  • Implement strategies in line with the child's Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP) to promote learning and development.
  • Work collaboratively with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals to adapt learning activities and create a supportive classroom environment.
  • Encourage independence while providing guidance, reassurance, and emotional support.
  • Monitor progress, document observations, and provide feedback to staff and parents as needed.
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment, adhering to safeguarding policies and procedures.
