Sheet Metal Worker - Salary: £18 - £21 per hour, depending on experience

Location: Cheltenham

My client is currently seeking two skilled and experienced Sheet Metal Workers specialising in thin gauge aluminium, steel, and titanium to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Read and understand technical drawings and instructions to fabricate sheet metal products with precision.
  • Set up and operate fabricating machines and hand tools to cut, bend, and straighten metal materials.
  • Shape sheet metal over anvils, blocks, or custom forms, ensuring accurate dimensions and smooth finishes.
  • Support the training of new employees or less experienced team members as required.
  • Maintain a safe working environment by following all health and safety procedures.
  • Participate in audits performed by external parties, engage in internal audits and process improvement programs.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Proficiency in using shrinkers, stretchers, straighteners, English wheels, and rollers to create part profiles.
  • Strong understanding of metal behaviour during forming.
  • Experience working with titanium, steel, and aluminium.
  • Panel beating skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and documents.
  • Familiarity with first off inspection procedures.
