We are currently recruiting for a permanent Maintenance Technician to join a well-established client based in Chepstow.

Our client is a busy manufacturing company and as such, they are looking to add new members of staff to their team.

Contract: Perm

Shifts: Rotational

6am-2pm Mon – Thurs and Fri 6am-12pm.

Following week will be 2-11pm Mon – Thurs and Fri 12-6pm

Salary up to: £43,000 P/A

Reporting directly into the Maintenance Manager, the Technician will be responsible for the site and all of its maintenance to ensure production is continually provided. On occasions where issues cannot be resolved internally, the Maintenance Technician will assist with external suppliers to resolve issues in a timely manner.

Responsibilities and Activities

To continually carry out, routine / preventative maintenance/mechanical settings and fault diagnosis across all the facility and systems, some major items include;

  • Vertical powder paint line.
  • Semi – automated packing (tapping & spiral wrap) lines.
  • Paint line conveyor/track.
  • Spray guns reciprocator.
  • A range of liquid pumps, valves and heating elements in chemical treatment and wastewater treatment plant; and
  • Polyamide rolling lines and packing machines.
  • To have an understanding of pneumatic / mechanical control systems.
  • To have an understanding of electro / mechanical control systems.
  • To adhere to and maintain a preventative maintenance programme.
  • To liaise with and assist internal staff where required, promptly and in a professional manner.
  • To complete relevant paperwork in line with process.

Essential Skill Requirements

  • Proven experience of being a competent qualified electrical technician.
  • Possess excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • A self-motivated proactive approach to work with high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proven experience of reading machine schematics.
  • Ability to build, maintain effective working partnerships with colleagues.
