Our client, a well-established family-run business based in Chepstow, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join their friendly finance team. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with day-to-day accounting duties, including processing invoices and payments.
- Reconcile bank accounts and supplier statements.
- Maintain the purchase ledger and sales ledger.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts.
- Prepare VAT returns and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
- Handle payroll and general administrative tasks as required.
- Provide support for queries from suppliers and customers.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Previous experience in an accounts assistant or similar role.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
- Proficient in using accounting software (experience with Sage or similar preferred).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A proactive, problem-solving approach to tasks.
