Fantastic opening for a manual Turner / Machinist to work for a highly reputable manufacturing company with a strong order book.  They have a smart facility and ongoing development opportunities.

Working within a friendly, stable and highly successful manufacturing team as Manual Machinist you will ideally have both the ability to use a manual lathe as well as having experience of grinding and milling.

You will be responsible for the following: 

  • Setting up machines for the jobs allocated. 
  • Perform the machining required to the required specifications. 
  • Operating a conventional lathe 
  • Undertaking cylindrical, bore and surface grinding and balancing

Ideally you will have experience in the below: 

  • Machine shop environment experience or apprentice trained / time served
  • Manual machining – turning primarily but also milling
  • Grinding experience
  • Competent in using precision measurement equipment 
  • The ability to work to fine tolerances & understand engineering drawings
