This is an exciting opportunity for a graduate looking to launch their career in systems engineering, working on cutting-edge projects in a collaborative and innovative environment. We are seeking a diligent and enthusiastic Graduate Systems Engineer to join our growing Systems function.

This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects, contributing to the definition and delivery of complex systems. As part of a dynamic engineering team, you will be actively involved throughout the systems development lifecycle – from planning and system design to integration, testing, and customer acceptance. You will gain hands-on experience working with various engineering disciplines and receive core skills training to support your professional development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in design and analysis activities across all project phases.
  • Ensure that technical requirements are met throughout design, integration, and engineering disciplines.
  • Develop and review technical documentation, including test plans, specifications, and procedures.
  • Support system and sub-system implementation, integration, and testing.
  • Work closely with hardware, software, and firmware teams to ensure systems meet operational requirements.
  • Support system safety, reliability, and through-life maintenance.
  • Participate in design reviews and assist with customer engagement throughout project development.
  • Assist with product acceptance testing at both factory and external locations.
  • Contribute to business development by preparing technical proposals and solutions.
  • Support research and development initiatives to improve engineering quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.

Key Requirements

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Basic computing and programming knowledge.
  • Ability to produce high-quality technical documentation.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • At least a BSc Degree in Engineering, Maths, or Science subject (or equivalent experience).
  • Eligibility to attain and retain SC UK Security Clearance.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally within the UK.
  • Strong team player, able to collaborate across different project teams and engineering disciplines.

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Prior work experience within the defence or a related engineering field.
  • Exposure to systems engineering methodologies and processes.
