Job Description

Position: Assembly Technician

Reporting to: Manufacturing and Engineering Supervisor

Role: Based at the company’s Chertsey site the role will be a Assembly Technician, you will be required to assemble high-precision electro-mechanical components, instruments and associated items. The company manufactures a wide range of instruments and activities will therefore be varied. Teamwork skills and the ability to work unattended will be a key attribute of the successful candidate. The role will report to the Manufacturing and Engineering Supervisor within a technical, low volume manufacturing environment.

 Key Responsibilities of Assembly Technician:

  • Assembly/manufacture of electro-mechanical components and instruments.
  • Fit and assembly of mechanical components making use of appropriate machinery and hand tools.
  • Manufacture and installation of wiring looms (using techniques, such as, soldering and crimping).
  • Conduct quality testing and fault finding on instruments.
  • Ensure components issued, are of a suitable quality & condition, pre any assembly operation
  • Provide occasional support to the Service & Repair department
  • Ensure that all H&SE policies and the company ISO guidelines are adhered to during manufacture/assembly/repair of instruments.
  • Participation in the ISO9001 and ISO14001 standard development and maintenance

Experience Required of Assembly Technician:

  • Experience with precision electro-mechanical assemblies is essential.
  • A solid background in both mechanical fitting and electrical assembly.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering instructions, drawings and BOM’s.
  • Take pride in producing high quality work. Good attention to detail.
  • Organised and able to prioritise.
  • Team player with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
