About the Role:

Brook Street Recruitment is excited to represent a fast-growing client in the food retail industry based in Chertsey. They're on the lookout for an experienced and driven Accounts / Bookkeeping Assistant to support their expanding finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a dynamic organisation, handling essential day-to-day financial functions to support their growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain sales and purchase ledgers
  • Perform bank and cash reconciliations
  • Prepare supplier payments and weekly financial reports
  • Handle credit card and petty cash recording and reconciliation
  • Process staff expenses, providing support with ad hoc analytical reports and projects as required

Experience & Skills Required:

  • Experience: Minimum 2 years as a Bookkeeper or Accounts Assistant, ideally within a multi-department or multi-site organisation
  • Software: Proficiency in Xero or Sage Line 50 (Datamolino knowledge is beneficial but not essential)
  • Qualifications: Part-qualified or actively studying towards accountancy exams preferred
  • Skills: Strong PC skills, particularly Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); excellent time management and attention to detail

  • Flexible and adaptable with excellent communication skills
