Head of Procurement - NHS Supply Chain

Full Time - Competitive Package

Based at either Foodbuy Chertsey office or NHS Supply Chain offices in Leeds or Chester

Overall Purpose of the Role

The Head of Procurement within the Foodbuy鈥檚 NHS Supply Chain (NHSSC) team is to work collaboratively with the Business Director and NHS Leadership Team to define, lead and deliver the overarching strategy, business objectives and KPI鈥檚 for the NHS contract. This role will direct all procurement and supplier management strategies across all of the frameworks (Delivered Ready Prepared Meals, Fresh Food, Multi Temperature Food Solutions, Multi Temperature Distribution, Ambient, Cold Beverages, Confectionery and Snacks, Food to Go, Hot Beverages and Vending Consumables, Hot Beverages and Vending Solutions, School Fruit & Vegetables) covering over 拢200m in spend.

This is a senior, high-profile role that will play an integral part in supporting execution of the NHSSC contract and Business Plan to deliver savings, category growth and KPI performance.

Key Responsibilities

鈥ead the procurement function to plan, develop and execute procurement activity that delivers year on year increased savings, savings retention and category growth.

鈥eliver best in class supplier management strategies maximise the value of NHSSC to NHS Trusts, and grow our market share.

鈥nsure compliance to Public Contract Regulations, Government Procurement Policy Notes and NHS England policies e.g. Net Zero Roadmap.

鈥ork closely with the Head of Business Development and Customer Engagement to implement best in class procurement activity in Trusts.

鈥ork closely with Finance to monitor progress and deliver commercial targets.

鈥ork closely with the operations team to support value added services to Trusts.

鈥uild strong working relationships with key client stakeholders to build credibility and promote Foodbuy鈥檚 value as a Category Management Service Provider.

鈥nergise, inspire and develop a large, diverse and geographically spread team of 24 individuals (4 direct reports)to operate with pace, passion and resilience.

鈥uild a high performing team culture and position NHSSC as a destination for talent both internally and externally.

鈥epresent NHSSC: Food at industry events and forums to build awareness and credibility
