Temporary Accounts Assistant (3-4 Month Contract)
Think Accountancy and Finance are delighted to be recruiting for a well-established business, based in Chesham, Bucks.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Accounts Assistant to join the team on a temporary basis (maternity cover) for 3-4 months.
Key Responsibilities
Purchase Ledger
- Process purchase invoices accurately and efficiently, ensuring authorisations are obtained.
- Manage supplier queries professionally and in a timely manner.
- Prepare suggested payment runs for approval by the Financial Controller.
- Monitor live purchase orders to ensure timely action across the business.
Sales Ledger
- Generate daily sales ledger invoices, checking stock allocations and despatch details.
- Prepare and send monthly statements.
- Handle credit control for overdue accounts.
- Reconcile and post payments received and daily bank receipts.
Other Duties
- Provide general support to the accounts department.
- Cover additional tasks during staff holidays or absences.
- Lead efficient and accurate monthly stock counts.
- Assist the production team in investigating stock discrepancies.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in accounts/credit control.
- Strong telephone manner and excellent communication skills to liaise with clients at all levels.
- Experienced in using accounting software .
- Organised, self-motivated, and able to thrive in a lively and sometimes fast-paced environment.
Hours
- 7.5 hours per day, Monday to Friday, between 9:00 AM and 5:30 PM
(with a 1-hour lunch break).
Contract Length3/4 months (maternity cover).
