This is an opportunity for a candidate with a degree in a science field such as BioScience, Pharmacy, Medical, or Psychology to use their knowledge in a commercial setting. A communications agency based a commutable distance from Watford, Harrow, Hemel Hempstead, and High Wycombe is seeking an Account Executive to join their growing team, starting in January. This company is a communications agency that provides their services to major businesses based in medical sciences. Here is where your educational background will help you. Your medical/scientific knowledge will allow you to understand the market environment by reading and interpreting clinical studies and inputting on to the marketing strategy. You will contribute to client brainstorming sessions with innovation and creativity. You will need to work on behalf of their clients to organise meetings and develop printed and digital materials. The projects will contain aspects of medical writing, managing meetings, managing campaigns, and assisting with running advisory boards. This is a busy role, but is always interesting, so you’ll benefit from organisational skills. In this varied and creative role, you’ll be working closely with the Account Director and other colleagues to develop campaigns that meet the brief and budget of clients, as well as presenting these ideas to clients. You will need to act as the communication link by maintaining regular contact. Pitching to potential clients alongside colleagues will be another of your responsibilities, meaning that you will need to be able to communicate ideas in a clear manner. Skills & Requirements
  • Candidates must have a science degree with a 2:1 minimum, or equivalent experience.
  • An interest in using degree knowledge in a commercial setting.
  • An organised approach to work.
  • Ability to effectively communicate your innovative and creative ideas to clients and colleagues.
  • An interest in marketing and communications is beneficial
  • Accurate written and presentation skills for tasks such as medical writing and pitching.
  • Proficiency in other languages is a big plus but not essential
Responsibilities
  • Developing campaigns and materials to meet clients’ brief and budget.
  • Presenting campaign ideas to clients.
  • Liaising with clients, maintaining an effective flow of communication.
  • Assisting in pitching to potential clients in order to win new business for the agency.
  • Being able to gain a thorough understanding of the client brand, marketing environment, and marketing strategy.
  • Demonstrating innovation and creativity in a range of situations such as campaign development, meetings programmes, and brainstorming sessions.
