Service Engineer

We are seeking a Service Engineer to join our team, providing comprehensive medical gas planning, design, maintenance, and installation services. This role is crucial for both preventative and reactive maintenance, ensuring high standards of service delivery and improvements within NHS and private hospitals.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Perform service and Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) checks, tests, and inspections in accordance with industry standards and hospital requirements.
  • Identify and document any changes since previous inspections.
  • Report and diagnose electrical faults and changes in the condition of plant or plant rooms.
  • Address major issues that may affect medical gas supply.
  • Submit detailed job summary and maintenance reports.
  • Maintain van stocks and manage inventory effectively.
  • Undertake a full range of servicing and reactive maintenance tasks.
  • Participate in an on-call rota to provide continuous service and support.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven engineering background with a minimum of 2 years as a Service Engineer, or a completed time-served apprenticeship (preferably multi-skilled).
  • Competent Person (MGPS) status is advantageous.
  • Experience or knowledge in servicing medical gas systems, compressor maintenance and repairs.
  • Familiarity with compressors, vacuum pumps, gas manifolds, gas outlets, alarms, and pressure equipment is desired but not essential.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent customer service skills with a focus on service delivery and quality improvements.
