Service Technician (Audio equipment)–£28,000-£34,000 DOE– Chesham, Buckinghamshire

The Role

Do you have proven ability at component-level fault finding, coupled with excellent soldering skills? Are you ready to be a key player in a team that values your technical expertise and attention to detail? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you.

We are an established pro audio repair/ service provider, looking to appoint a Technical Service Engineer to our growing team.

You will be responsible for repairing and maintaining advanced professional audio equipment, including high-powered amplifiers. Your role will involve hands-on work with a variety of audio technologies, ensuring that our clients receive the best service possible.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and repair high-powered amplifiers and other professional audio equipment.
  • Conduct component-level fault finding with precision.
  • Perform soldering, including SMD 0402 components, to a high standard.
  • Use standard test equipment to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs and services performed.
  • Communicate effectively with customers to provide updates and explain technical issues.
  • Collaborate with a small, dedicated team of professionals to maintain our reputation for technical excellence.

The Company

ART or Audio Related Technology Ltd has been providing high quality repair and technical services to the professional audio, broadcast and discerning individuals since March 2000. Our dedicated workshop in Chesham is equipped with high quality test equipment. We have all the manufacturers jigs and software and highly trained staff.

The Person

  • Proven ability at component level fault finding.
  • Excellent soldering skills, SMD 0402.
  • Familiar with the use of standard test equipment.
  • Good electronic knowledge.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong IT skills including knowledge of IP networks.
  • Effective communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Bachelor's degree or HND in a related field or relevant work experience will be taken into consideration.
  • Audio engineering certifications or relevant training is a plus.
