Management Accountant - Xero Implementation

• Location: Chessington, Greater London
• Salary: £200- 250 daily rate (Consultant type activity, outside IR35)
• Job Type: Temporary Contract (3-6 months)
• Hours: 40 hours per week

We are seeking an experienced Management Accountant to lead the implementation of Xero accounting software, optimizing financial processes to enhance reporting, process automation, and overall business efficiency. This role is crucial for ensuring a smooth transition from our existing systems to Xero, integrating it seamlessly with our operational software.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Xero Implementation & System Migration: Lead the transition from existing accounting software to Xero, ensuring data accuracy and continuity. Configure Xero’s settings to fit our business model and oversee data migration.
• Financial Reporting & Control: Develop custom financial reports within Xero for real-time business insights. Maintain compliance with UK GAAP, VAT, and tax regulations.
• Process Automation & Efficiency: Implement automated workflows within Xero to streamline financial processes, reducing manual work and enhancing efficiency.
• Stakeholder Training & Support: Train and support both finance and non-finance teams on Xero usage. Provide ongoing support and liaise with external consultants to optimize system performance.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA preferred; AAT required).
• Proven experience in financial management, with hands-on experience in Xero implementation and system migration.
• Strong skills in financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Proficiency in Excel and financial analytics tools.
• Knowledge of UK tax laws, VAT, and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Experience in the construction, technical services, or utilities industry is advantageous.
• Specific Requirement: Working knowledge of Xero at a larger scale SME, not just private practice with a small team. Familiarity with additional tools for full stock accounting and managing complex orders and receipts is crucial.
