The Company

Our client is a leading European manufacturer of expert equipment solutions used by the professional bakery sector. Their range of products include prep and production systems as well as bespoke automation lines and play a crucial part in the production processes of commercial, professional and artisan bakeries.

They are recognised for their premium equipment and cutting-edge technologies as well as their close-working solution-focused relationships with their client base which can range from artisan and high street bakeries to large-scale commercial bakery production facilities, Hotel and Restaurant kitchens and more.

The Role

This is a newly created and pivotal role in response to the company’s continued success in the UK. You will be responsible for driving continued growth across the Southern region.

  • Making comprehensive use of the company CRM, manage portfolio of current business projects while simultaneously developing a robust pipeline of qualified new projects.
  • Plan and carry out sales and marketing activities (principally field based) to agreed budgets, sales volumes, values, product mix and timescales.
  • Develop and foster relationships with decision makers and influencers at new and existing accounts.
  • Utilising the full array of resources available within the organization, coordinate and lead the response to incoming and self-generated customer enquiries.
  • Monitor market intelligence, report on customer and market intel, industry activities.
  • Carry out market research, competitor and customer surveys.
  • Maintain and develop relationships with key personnel in Operations facilities and subsidiary businesses in Europe.
  • Liaise and attend meetings with other company functions necessary to perform duties and aid business and organisational development.
  • Attend training and develop relevant knowledge and skills.

The Person

  • Experience and knowledge of bakery processes, pressure points and automation.
  • Knowledge of the bakery sector (manufacturing scale).
  • Strong commercial acumen/experience.
  • Accomplished networking and relationship building skills.
  • Business development experience within the food/beverage industry.
  • Sales experience (hunting and farming) within business selling capital products of a similar investment value.
  • Able to demonstrate a track record of accomplishment in your employment history.
  • Able and willing to undertake extensive travel within the territory plus European destinations for company meetings, customer demonstrations and trade shows - including overnight stays and the occasional weekend - as required.
  • Negotiation skills.
  • Experience of using a CRM system as the prime management tool.
