Deputy Hygiene Manager – Food Manufacturing

We are looking for an experienced Deputy Hygiene Manager to play a key role in maintaining and improving hygiene standards in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. This is a newly created role within a growing business, offering a fantastic opportunity to make your mark, take ownership, and drive continuous improvement. With a strong focus on internal growth and development, there is a clear path for progression within the company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work cross-functionally to uphold and enhance site hygiene standards.
  • Maintain and update cleaning schedules, CICs, and training records.
  • Train and develop hygiene teams, ensuring compliance with all procedures.
  • Monitor and improve hygiene processes, reducing cleaning times where possible.
  • Support audits, cleaning validation, and hygiene management system updates.
  • Manage hygiene stock, equipment, and liaise with external service providers.
  • Ensure documentation and site hygiene standards are always audit-ready.
  • Deputize for the Hygiene Manager and take on leadership responsibilities. 

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience as a Hygiene Supervisor or Team Leader in food manufacturing.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize workloads and achieve key KPIs.
  • Effective communication, both written and verbal.
  • Computer literacy (Word, Excel, etc.).
  • A proactive, problem-solving mindset with a can-do attitude. 
  • Food Safety Level 3
  • HACCP Level 3
