Compliance Coordinator

  • Job Type: Full-time, Monday - Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm

We are seeking a dedicated Compliance Coordinator to join our well-established client based in Chessington. This role is crucial for managing and continuously improving our food safety and Quality Management System (QMS) for Ready to Cook and Raw Ready to Eat products. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food science or a related discipline, with experience in the food industry focusing on technical and quality aspects.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Manage and review processes to ensure the delivery and continuous improvement of the company’s food safety and QMS.
  • Ensure that technical controls are correctly documented, operated within the site, and kept up to date with any amendments issued promptly.
  • Understand and cascade changes in legal requirements, codes of practices, and industry standards; assess their impact on sites and QMS to ensure compliance.
  • Maintain accurate data collection, identify trends, and escalate when intervention is required, including handling complaints, out of spec micro, taste panel, and serious complaints.
  • Act as the site contact for external laboratories, managing relationships and ensuring effective communication.
  • Monitor systems such as QA checks, GMP audits, and process audits, ensuring audits are completed according to schedule and reported in Tier 3 and 4 meetings.
  • Control all aspects relevant to compliance for the site in external third-party audits and ensure timely closeouts.
  • Review sampling results, share with relevant stakeholders, and take appropriate action where necessary.
  • Manage customer or site KPIs as determined by frequency requirements.
  • Support the factory management team in providing trends and supporting Food Safety Culture.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Degree or equivalent in Food Science or a related discipline.
  • Experience within the food industry, particularly in Technical and Quality roles.
  • Knowledge of food legislation, labelling, nutritional and allergen information.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to deal with colleagues across all levels and functions of the business.
  • Conscientious and diligent attitude with a strong focus on detail and accuracy.
