Reed Food & FMCG are currently recruiting for a Compliance Coordinator to manage and continuously improve food safety and Quality Management System (QMS) for Ready to Cook and Raw Ready to Eat products. This role is crucial in ensuring that the technical controls are up-to-date and compliant with legal requirements, codes of practices, and industry standards.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Manage processes to deliver and improve the company’s food safety and QMS.
  • Ensure documentation of technical controls is current and promptly updated.
  • Cascade changes in legal requirements and industry standards, assessing their impact on site operations and QMS, ensuring compliance.
  • Maintain accurate data collection, identify trends, and escalate for intervention when necessary.
  • Act as the site contact for external laboratories and manage relationships.
  • Monitor various systems such as QA checks, GMP audits, and process audits, ensuring audits are completed according to schedule.
  • Manage compliance aspects including microbiology risk assessment, test results, complaints, non-conformances, internal audits, trends analysis, and action plans.
  • Review sampling results, share with relevant stakeholders, and take appropriate actions.
  • Manage customer or site KPIs as determined by requirements.
  • Participate in factory management teams, providing trends support and promoting Food Safety Culture.
  • Support crisis management situations, mock recalls, and data collection.
  • Prepare for and manage technical visits, ensuring all arrangements are in place.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Degree or equivalent in Food Science or a related discipline.
  • Experience within the food industry, particularly in Technical and Quality roles.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of food legislation, labelling, nutritional, and allergen information.
  • Strong communication skills, able to interact effectively across all levels and functions of the business.
  • Ability to interpret and implement the technical agenda.
