Due to expansion, our international client is looking for a motivated, driven Purchase Assistant to join their Chessington office. You will be negotiating between several suppliers and customers, problem solving any issues and assisting in the purchasing department. This role offers excellent career prospects, development and progression within a lovely company.

  • Based in Chessington
  • £20,000 - £25,000 (DOE)
  • Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 5:30pm
  • 25 days holiday + bank holidays

Job description:

  • Liaising with suppliers via email and telephone.
  • Chasing overdue orders.
  • Providing the company sales team with up-to-date delivery information.
  • Updating computer systems with purchase order information.
  • Assisting Buying team with daily ordering.
  • Assisting with the management of the 'Goods in’ procedures.
  • Maintain and strengthen relationships with exiting suppliers and internal customers.
  • Corresponding with our sister branch regarding the transfer of stock and 'goods in’ procedures.

Person specification:

  • Previous experience working in an office environment
  • Good standard of education
  • Excellent numeracy and literacy skills
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office, primarily Excel
  • Ability to multitask and manage own workload
  • Trustworthy; able to work under own initiative
  • Detail oriented, with ability to adapt to any task given
  • Excellent communication skills
