SEN Teaching Assistant

We are looking for a passionate SEN teaching assistant to join as part of a school team in Chessington, starting as soon as possible to support the education and training sector to make a positive impact on the student's education. The school are looking for applicants who are proactive and can show their enthusiasm when it comes to supporting students.

About the role:

  • Start date: Immediate start
  • Located in Chessington.
  • Working with SEN pupils ranging from age of 9 up till the age of 19.
  • SEN teaching assistants must be able to effectively manage the needs of students which could include but are not limited to: PMLD, Autism, Learning Difficulties, Physical Needs, Some Non-verbal, Challenging behaviour and Help with personal care.
  • Role requires working part time- Monday and Thursday
  • Class sizes vary from 8- 10 students (many opportunities for 1-1 work with students)
  • Salary- 85-100 per day

The successful SEN teaching assistant will need:

  • Passion for education and training - ideal candidate must be proactive and engaging
  • Must be able to show empathy and consideration to all students
  • Strong communication/listening skills
  • Previous experience in a similar role with SEN is ideal/ must have a good understanding of SEN.
  • ability to commute to Chessington
