Accounts Assistant, Estate Management

Location: DurhamSalary: Competitive, dependent on experience

Our client, a prestigious estate based in Durham, is seeking an Accounts Assistant to support the smooth running of its financial operations primarily and contribute to the successful management of the Estate being a pivotal part of dedicated team supporting the stunning heritage surroundings.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified AAT or part or qualified ACA/ACCA professional with experience in bookkeeping and financial administration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Processing invoices across multiple entities.
  • Weekly and monthly bookkeeping, ensuring accurate financial records.
  • Regular reconciliation of bank and inter-entity balances.
  • Assisting with VAT returns, including Partial Exemption calculations.
  • Supporting the preparation of year-end accounts and management accounts.
  • Assisting with credit control, including debtor and creditor reviews.
  • Supporting estate events, including hosting school visits.
  • Providing general assistance to the Financial Controller as required.

Person Specification:

  • Qualified AAT or part-qualified ACA/ACCA with relevant experience.
  • Strong accounts preparation and reconciliation skills.
  • Experience with AutoEntry, Xero, and MS Excel (preferred).
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Organised, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Strong team player, able to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.

Study support may be available depending on experience.
