Accounts Assistant, Estate Management

Our client, a prestigious estate based in Durham, is seeking an Accounts Assistant to support the smooth running of its financial operations primarily and contribute to the successful management of the Estate being a pivotal part of dedicated team supporting the stunning heritage surroundings.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified AAT or part or qualified ACA/ACCA professional with experience in bookkeeping and financial administration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Processing invoices across multiple entities.
- Weekly and monthly bookkeeping, ensuring accurate financial records.
- Regular reconciliation of bank and inter-entity balances.
- Assisting with VAT returns, including Partial Exemption calculations.
- Supporting the preparation of year-end accounts and management accounts.
- Assisting with credit control, including debtor and creditor reviews.
- Supporting estate events, including hosting school visits.
- Providing general assistance to the Financial Controller as required.
Person Specification:
- Qualified AAT or part-qualified ACA/ACCA with relevant experience.
- Strong accounts preparation and reconciliation skills.
- Experience with AutoEntry, Xero, and MS Excel (preferred).
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Organised, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Strong team player, able to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
Study support may be available depending on experience.
