Overview/Company Introduction

Adkins & Cheurfi proudly presents an exciting opportunity on behalf of our esteemed client, a luxurious independent 4-star hotel nestled in the rural location of county Durham. Boasting 43 opulent bedrooms, a distinguished stable block restaurant which offers tantalizing seasonal menus with dishes prepared from only the freshest local ingredients.

We are currently seeking an experienced Sous Chef from a busy gastro style pub, to collaborate and support the newly appointed Head Chef.

You will be a part of a progressive and collaborative team who continuously seek to improve standards and overall, the customer experience. Their mission is to create a little bit of luxury, in a place of history, to leave guests with a lifetime of special memories.

Role /Responsibilities 

  • Shifts pattern is 5/7 days per week
  • 40 hours per week
  • Collaborate closely with department heads to strategize and synchronize day-to-day operations, ensuring that standards are not just met, but consistently surpassed.
  • Participate in weekly manager meetings and facilitate staff training sessions.
  • To motivate and lead by example, ensuring you and your team has fun at work and are proud of your efforts.
  • To ensure all food is cooked, presented and served in line with its specific specification and company standards using innovation in the method and style of presentation and food service.
  • People management, ensuring all team member are fully equipped and trained to be able to do their job as affectively as possible

 Candidate 

  • Proven success as a sous chef operating in a busy gastro pub
  • Good understanding of budgets, financials and managing targets
  • Strong people management skills and able to motivate and lead a team
  • Comply with & implement all legislative and licensing requirements.
  • Always promote a positive perception of the Company, both internally & externally.
