Prospero Teaching are working with an outstanding Primary School in Chester Le Street who are looking for 1:1 Teaching Assistants to start after half-term (November 2024) on both full-time and part-time bases.

Prospero Teaching are looking for an inspiring, enthusiastic and experienced 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support pupils with SEN in one of our excellent primary schools in Chester Le Street.

The role will involve supporting pupils with their learning on a 1:1 basis, so the successful candidate will need to be a resilient practitioner and have excellent relationship-building skills.

The school is a brilliantly supportive, inspiring, and enjoyable environment for both students and staff. This is a role that will give you the opportunity to make a positive difference to the lives of children every day.

This role will involve: · Supporting a pupil with SEN and challenging behaviour on a 1:1 basis. · Managing challenging behaviour in a positive, proactive and consistent manner. · Building and maintaining positive relationships with Class Teachers to support the pupil and discuss/implement strategies and learning activities to promote pupil progress. · Preparing resources for learning activities and lessons. · Supervising pupils at break times and lunch times as required. · Having a "hands on" approach to supporting the pupils in their learning, with a willingness to interact, engage and form a positive rapport with the pupil. · Liaising with parents and outside agencies to discuss progress as required.

This role requires: · An Enhanced DBS (ideally on the Update Service but this is not essential as we can process a new one for you) · Ideally a recognised Childcare-based qualification, although again, this is not essential. · An ability to build positive relationships and a rapport with pupils and staff. · A resilient, proactive, and positive nature · Experience of supporting pupils in a School setting. · Ideally experience of 1:1 Support within a School setting · High levels of enthusiasm, energy and positivity when working with pupils. · A genuine passion for supporting young people to fulfil their potential and flourish in education. · An enthusiastic approach and a willingness to engage with and form positive relationships with pupils.
