The Role:

We are The Recruitment Agency, working with an industry-leading client in search of a Project Engineer for their Customer Engineering Services (CES) team. This exciting role is based in Birtley, and will be instrumental in the installation and maintenance of equipment across various customer sites, including hospitals, automotive, and more.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing installation projects, working collaboratively with the CES and Sales teams, and ensuring that all installations are completed safely, on time, and within budget.

What You Will Enjoy Doing:

  • Project Management: Oversee the installation and maintenance of equipment across multiple customer sites, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Design & Proposal: Develop design solutions to meet customer process requirements and prepare cost-effective proposals.
  • Documentation: Identify and submit all project documentation, including Risk Assessment Method Statements, installation test packs, and handover documentation.
  • Safety Leadership: Actively promote and participate in safety initiatives, ensuring a safety-first approach in all projects.
  • Collaboration: Provide technical support to the CES team and work closely with the Sales team to deliver successful projects.
  • Continuous Improvement: Contribute ideas for process improvements to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction.

What Makes You Great:

  • Educational Background: Higher National Diploma (HND) or degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Experience: 2-3 years of experience in a project-based engineering role, with a proven ability to scope, cost, and prepare installation proposals.
  • Project Management Skills: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple small projects across different locations simultaneously.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to engage with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Driving Licence: A full UK driving licence is required as the role involves travel to various sites.
  • Integrity & Safety Focus: A commitment to safe working practices and maintaining a culture of integrity in the workplace.
