Accountant - 12-Month Fixed Term Contract
Salary: £51,000 to £67,000 per annum (dependent on experience), plus benefits

Our client, a leading financial institution, is looking for a motivated and newly qualified Accountant to join their dynamic team in Chester. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a globally renowned organisation on a 12-month fixed term contract. The role offers a hybrid working model, with a combination of office-based and remote working arrangements.
The Team:
Joining the Commodities team, you will be part of a diverse and collaborative group of finance professionals. With team members based in Chester and India, you will have the opportunity to work with colleagues globally, including the Finance team in New York and trading desks in London, New York, and Singapore.
Responsibilities:
Diverse range of daily duties, including P&L production, monthly valuations, business reporting, and ledger substantiation.Conducting balance sheet analysis and ensuring accurate and well-controlled financial reporting.Continuously challenging and improving controls, processes, applications, and data sources.Collaborating with Front Office to explain P&L and valuations metrics.Acting as a business partner and providing control oversight on new products and initiatives.Participating in cross-team projects and initiatives.Producing and monitoring daily and monthly KPIs.
Requirements:
Strong ability to review, debate, and challenge.Prior experience supervising and guiding junior team members.Setting high standards for controls and leading by example.Excellent analytical and communication skills (both written and verbal).Ability to respond effectively to time-sensitive requests.Professional qualification is preferable.
