Accountant required to join one of our not for profit organisations on a full time permanent based in Chester. My client is looking for an experienced Rent & Service Charge Accountant to join their supportive and vibrant finance function.

As the Rent & Service Charge Accountant you will work within a team of 4 and will be required to process and deliver accurate service charge information:

Key responsibilities.

  • Provide accurate service charge accounting for all service charge payers, ensuring all relevant costs are identified and recharged appropriately.
  • Prepare service charge budgets in line with Association's budget setting procedure and timetable.
  • Prepare and send information to variable service charge payers in line with prevailing legislation where required.
  • Maintain database of service charge costs to enable the periodic service charge review to be completed accurately.
  • Responsible for fair rent database and registration bi-annually of fair rents within your remit.
  • Managing and maintaining the accuracy of financial information to ensure regulatory and statutory compliance
  • To be responsible for the annual service charge reviews for your remit.

Required skills and experience;

  • Ideally Part ACCA/CIMA/ACA or equivalent
  • Ability to demonstrate working with large volumes of numerical data with accuracy
  • Experience of operating within a diverse organisation
  • Knowledge and understanding of Government Rent Standard and Service Charge Legislation
  • Strong IT skills including Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent organisation skills
  • Great communication skills both verbal and written
