Project Cost Estimator

Location: Capenhurst, Chester

Rate: £65-75 umbrella

Duration: 12 months initially

Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Cost Estimator to join our Group Projects team at Urenco Limited. The primary purpose of this role is to produce project cost estimates aligning with Urenco's standards and procedures. You will be responsible for developing probabilistically modelled project cost estimates, validating vendor offers, supporting the development of Capital Expenditure Proposals (CEPs), and estimating the impact of project change requests. This role requires the ability to travel up to 50% and the flexibility to work at any Urenco Group operating location.

Working as part of the Project Support team, you will support a global project portfolio ranging from small to medium projects up to €100 million in annual capex, and select projects exceeding €500 million. The Project Cost Estimator will ensure that cost estimates reflect the project scope accurately and comply with Urenco's policies. You will have the autonomy to work remotely from line management, interfacing with multiple internal and external stakeholders.

Skills:

  • Ability to interpret technical specifications and engineering drawings
  • Ability to coordinate disparate information into coherent estimates
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel, Word, Visio, and PowerPoint skills
  • Sound understanding of industry-standard estimating processes and principles
  • Probabilistic modelling knowledge
  • Experience with Primavera, PRA, @Risk, and Microsoft Project
  • SAP knowledge
  • Conversant in business English and the business language specific to the role location
  • Team Leadership and collaboration
  • Strong analytical and numeracy skills

Certifications & Standards:

  • Professional cost estimating qualification (e.g., AACE or equivalent)
  • Degree level education in a relevant subject or discipline
