I am recruiting a Senior Financial Accountant to join a niche services business based in Chester. Reporting to the Financial Controller you will be responsible for technical and operational reporting. This is an exciting time to join this friendly and diverse business as they enter a period of change.
Responsibilities include:
- Working closely with the wider business you will ensure financial controls are adhered to and challenged where necessary.
- Supporting the Financial Controller in managing financial, regulatory and reputational risks.
- Working closely with various stakeholders across the business, as well as external relationships with the auditors and lenders.
- Delivery of timely and accurate month-end close; including balance sheet / ledger reconciliations, intercompany, management accounts and bi-monthly reporting, working closely with the F&PA team and Financial Controller.
- Managing the balance sheet with approval and posting of journals and completion of reconciliations - ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Preparation of the quarterly Corporation Tax and VAT calculations for submission and presenting to the Financial Controller / Finance Director for approval.
- Preparation and reconciliation of reporting packs on a bi-monthly basis, ensuring and presenting to Finance Director for sign-off.
- Support the team in developing robust payment/collection reconciliation.
- Support the Financial Controller through the external audit process and in preparation of Statutory Accounts for Group Companies.
- Management of a Trainee Financial Accountant.
Skills Required:
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified
- Strong excel and technical systems experience.
- Analytical and methodical with attention to detail and accuracy.
