Accountable Recruitment are delighted to be partnering with this Deeside based organisation as they look to recruit an Assistant Accountant to join their small but busy and fast paced finance team.

As an Assistant Accountant, you will support the Finance Director by maintaining accurate financial records, assisting in the preparation of management accounts, and ensuring compliance with relevant financial regulations.

This opportunity is ideal for a AAT qualifiefd / ACCA or CIMA part qualified or QBE Accountant to join an established and successful business operating within an interesting and unique business sector.

Salary/benefits:

Reporting to: Finance Director

Position: Permanent, Full-time

Key Responsibilities

  • Assistance with group management accounts production
  • Preparation of accounts payable, invoice approval, payment preparation
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Accruals, prepayments, month-end journals
  • Monitoring and reporting on business costs
  • Payroll - assisting in the monthly preparation of payrolls, preparing pension submissions
  • Monitoring and diarising key financial calendar dates, dealing with annual filings
  • Quarterly vat return
  • Cashflow forecasting and monitoring
  • Staff benefits - monitoring and updating
  • Assistance with migrating to new accounting software/change of processes
  • Assisting with regulatory returns

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Previous experience within a similar role
  • AAT qualification / QBE
  • Flexible approach to a varied role
  • Professional mature manner
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and translate findings into clear, actionable insights.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to present data clearly to non-technical audiences.
  • Strong Excel skills
