Welcome to The Raven, were a restaurant based in the beautiful Cheshire village of Farndon. We have been open since 2021 following an extensive refurbishment. The Raven has a casual food offering with a menu that changes regularly to reflect both seasonal and market trends. We offer an extensive menu that includes all of your dirty comfort food favourites alongside some great British pub classics. Whether its a light bar snack or full on feast your after we have everything covered. Our popularity has grown tremendously over the years and we are now a fast paced busy operation.
The Role
As Sous Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the kitchen, from menu development and food quality to team leadership and cost management. Your input will be paramount in the future development of our menus, a menu that showcases seasonal, and on trend menu items. You should posses excellent cooking skills, be confident in the preparation of fresh produce and be able to deliver aesthetically pleasing dishes, while delivering an outstanding casual dining experience for all of our customers. High volume experience would be preferred as our kitchen often produces anywhere between 50 - 150 covers each service, with Sundays reaching 250 covers as we have great reputation for our Sunday lunch.

Kitchen Duties:
Help with the day-to-day running of the kitchen, ensuring smooth service and efficiency.
Implement and maintain kitchen procedures, food safety, and hygiene standards.
Manage stock levels, ordering, and supplier relationships to minimise waste and maximise freshness.
Ensure full compliance with food safety regulations, conducting regular HACCP and risk assessments.
Financial & Cost Control:
Work within agreed food cost and GP targets, ensuring profitability without compromising quality.
Implement effective portion control, stock management, and waste reduction strategies.
Assist in pricing dishes competitively while maintaining a sustainable and profitable kitchen operation.
Guest Experience:
Work closely with the Manager and Front of House team to ensure a seamless dining experience.
Engage with guests when needed, providing insight into dishes and creating a strong connection between the kitchen and the front of house.
Ensure the kitchen team understands and delivers the restaurants overall vision and values.
Sous Chef benefits:
