And right now, we’re looking for an Operations Project Engineer. Based at our Capenhurst site, you’ll provide Project Management support for a number of work packages as requested by the Operations Manager to satisfy both tactical and strategic requirements.

What will your day look like?

• Manage Work Packages from conception to completion. Projects range for £10k - £500k in value.
• Manage design interfaces within the project, attending and providing SQEP input at risk reviews etc.
• Sequence operational activities and liaise with relevant departments.
• Preparation of technical documents and reports to satisfy both operational and project requirements (e.g. Project Management Plans, Pre-construction Information, Construction Phase Plans, Engineering Substantiation reports, etc.).
• Delivery of work packages to cost and schedule.
• Safe delivery of work packages.
• Safe and compliant management of contractor.
• Author lower category MoCs in support of UNS Baseline Statement of Resource.
• Contract representative.
• Identify and implement opportunities to improve the operations process. Undertake Continuous improvements and support the business with input into problem solving activities. Actively support the Business tactical and strategic objectives.
• Participate in the roll out of the “One Capenhurst” strategy.

What do you need to be great at this role?

• Relevant Degree or equivalent operations management experience
• IOSH Manging Safely or equivalent
• Full Driving Licence (Clean)
• Safety Case Development Safe System of Work Transportation of hazardous material
• Experience of managing process/waste operations
• Thorough understanding of nuclear safety and criticality control requirements
• Knowledge of safety cases and safety measures
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills necessary to develop and maintain a high performing operations team
• Environmental Permitting (Radioactive Substances)
• Trained as Dangerous Goods Safety Adviser
• Development and implementation of waste management strategies
• Experience of writing and managing Plant Modification Proposals
• Line Management experience
• Project Management experience
