Right now, we are seeking a Manager for Construction Management. In this role, you will provide global construction management capability across all Urenco sites, ensuring safe, coordinated, and high-quality delivery of all construction work. You will support the full project lifecycle, from initiation through to delivery and closure, at a global level.

What will your day look like?

  • Promote Safety Culture: Lead by example and foster a proactive safety culture within the global construction team.
  • Support Project Delivery: Ensure the successful and safe delivery of major CAPEX projects worldwide, providing necessary resources and support.
  • Build a High-Performance Team: Develop a team focused on safety, delivery, and quality, driving continuous improvement in performance.
  • Training Strategy: Create and implement a strategy to ensure Urenco has qualified personnel to supervise on-site construction work.
  • Global Construction Standards: Develop global construction management processes to deliver Urenco Group projects effectively.
  • Constructability & Project Readiness: Ensure the constructability and readiness of projects by applying best practices during early stages.
  • Foster Team Integration: Seamlessly integrate all sub-disciplines and functions, collaborating with site teams throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Enhance Relationships: Strengthen collaboration with FEED/EPCM contractors, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Leverage Industry Best Practices: Continuously monitor global market developments, adopting best practices for Urenco’s benefit.
  • Knowledge Retention and Continuous Improvement: Capture and share knowledge across Urenco, conducting lessons learned reviews to drive improvements in construction practices.

What do you need to excel in this role?

Qualifications:

  • NVQ Level 7 in Senior Construction Management or equivalent.
  • Leadership and Management qualification (e.g., PMP).
  • Membership of an appropriate professional body.
  • HNC or degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • NEBOSH or equivalent safety qualification.

Experience:

  • Minimum 15 years of experience across the full project lifecycle.
  • Ideally 5+ years working in the nuclear or similarly regulated industry.
  • Proven track record in delivering complex construction projects internationally.
  • Experience leading multi-cultural teams across multiple geographic locations.
  • Strong on-site construction knowledge, particularly regarding safety legislation and regulations (e.g., CDM, NEBOSH).
  • Proven leadership abilities and capability to work independently.

Knowledge:

  • Strong technical background in engineering and construction.
  • Skilled in analysing project requirements and managing complex contractual relationships.
  • Ability to build and lead high-performance teams, ensuring project success.
  • Comprehensive understanding of international and national legislation (USA, Europe, UK).
  • In-depth knowledge of EPC contractor markets and supply chains.

Skills:

  • Exceptional leadership, guiding project teams to success with minimal supervision.
  • Expertise in construction management techniques that protect Urenco’s contractual position.
