Your new companyHays Recruitment are proud to be supporting an Ofsted rated "Good" pre-school in Chester that is easily accessible via public transport as they are looking to recruit an experienced and motivated early years teaching assistant for a full-time permanent contract. This contract will commence in March 2025 with hours consisting of 7:45am- 4:45pm, 4 days per week. This school is ideally looking for someone that can commit to Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday but are flexible with days if needed.Your new roleAs a teaching assistant within this school, you will be supporting pupils between the ages of 2 - 5 on a 1:1 and small group basis. You will work alongside teachers and other colleagues to offer a stimulating and engaging learning environment for all pupils by taking a pupil-centred approach to education and adapting to best suit their needs and key interests. You will implement a myriad of positive behaviour strategies with a focus on positive behaviour reinforcement. You will offer phonics sessions and assessments on a 1:1 and small group basis, Learn Through Play sessions, and observations to ensure that all pupils' attainment needs are met and support them with their social and emotional development.What you'll need to succeedTo be considered in your application you must have full "Right to Work" in the UK as well as a minimum of 40 days referenceable experience supporting pupils between the ages of 2 - 6 in the last 2 years, as well as:

  • Expert knowledge of the EYFS national curriculum
  • A passion for supporting young learners
  • An NVQ Level 2 or equivalent Early Years qualification is essential
