Security Engineer

Location: Chester & Surrounding - Travel within the region and occasional overnight stays required

Job Type: Full Time, Permanent

Salary: Up to £35k basic DOE

Job Purpose: To support in service activities, including daily fault requests, planned preventative maintenance (PPM) duties, and out-of-hours (OOH) reactive duties for large-scale, high-end integrated systems from a broad client base. The role involves ensuring the site remains safe and secure, requiring flexibility, a 'can do' attitude, and occasional travel away from home.

Key Accountabilities:

General:

  • Provide reliable, courteous, and efficient service.
  • Maintain a positive company image through high standards of dress and communication.
  • Close/update helpdesk after each service visit.
  • Ensure company vehicles are well-maintained.
  • Maintain a high level of personal performance, demonstrating a willingness to help colleagues.
  • Adhere to company Management Systems.
  • Assist with the call-out rota.
  • Undertake any other duties as required by the Service Manager to deliver top-class service to the client.

Field-Based:

  • Care, maintenance, and repair of complex Analogue and Digital CCTV Systems on public highways, shopping malls, custodial, and general areas.
  • Care, maintenance, and repair of functional and managed control rooms.
  • Care, maintenance, and repair of multi-site Access Control Systems.
  • Support and maintain Perimeter Detection Systems.
  • Complete planned preventative maintenance.
  • Occasional nights away.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Sound knowledge of CCTV, IT, and PID Systems.
  • Sound knowledge of Access Control systems with Site Mustering.
  • Sound knowledge of DVR & NVR systems.
  • On-site repair capability.
  • Desirable knowledge in areas such as PID's, Galaxy Alarms, Cortech GUI, CEM Access Control, Synergy, Video Matrix Systems, IP Systems, Networks, Raid Recording, and first-line repairs on Gates and Barriers.
  • Analytical thinker with a methodical approach to problem-solving.
  • Confident and able to complete documentation.
  • Able to multitask and work to tight schedules.
  • Good at knowledge sharing.
  • Keen to develop new skills.
  • Good self-discipline skills (organised, reliable, self-starter).
  • Flexible approach to working practices and requirements.
  • Team player - offers support and knows when to seek help.
  • Strong customer and communication skills.
  • Good telephone manner that inspires customer confidence.
  • Full UK driving license.
  • Relevant experience; knowledge of the bus industry, CCTV, or electrical is desirable.
  • Full training will be provided.
