Assistant Technical Manager (R&D)

Location: Cheshire

What You Will Do:

Coordinate and execute technical work programmes to support growth

Identify and implement solutions to technical challenges, ensuring projects hit key milestones and align with plans

Ensure laboratory equipment is always operational and uphold the highest safety standards

Ensure all activities are covered by risk assessments

Keep abreast of the latest technologies and scientific developments to keep the business at cutting edge

Provide technical support, coaching, and training to the team and customers, ensuring everyone has the knowledge and tools they need to succeed

Qualifications, Skills & Experience;

A PhD in a relevant technical subject and minimum of 5 years of experience in a related chemical business. Experience in silicas or silicates is advantageous

Experience of characterising / developing new materials

Strong team management and planning skills

Ability to tackle complex issues and interpret data to generate actionable insights

Excellent decision-making and communication skills to influence stakeholders and customers

A proactive approach to learning and personal development with the aim of becoming a technical expert in the business
